Supported devices
Most phones and tablets released since 2018–2019 support eSIM. Here's the general picture by manufacturer — since eSIM support can vary by exact model, region, and carrier, the most reliable check is always the one on the device in your hand.
Apple
iPhone XS, XR, and every model since (including all iPhone 15/16 models)
iPad Pro (2018 or later), iPad Air (3rd gen or later), iPad (7th gen or later), and iPad mini (5th gen or later) also support eSIM.
Samsung
Galaxy S20 series and later, Galaxy Note 20 series, and the Galaxy Z Fold / Z Flip series
Some carrier-locked variants — particularly certain US carrier models — ship with eSIM disabled even on otherwise-supported hardware.
Pixel 3 and every model since
Other Android manufacturers (Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, and others) have added eSIM support to select models too, but it's far less consistent across their lineups — check the specific device rather than assuming based on brand.
